Does this stamp work on more than paper?

It performs best on smooth, absorbent surfaces such as envelopes, cardstock, kraft tags, and paper bags, where the ink has somewhere to soak in. Glossy or coated finishes tend to smear and stay tacky. If you want to try fabric, bare wood, or unglazed clay, test a hidden corner first and let it dry completely before you commit to the real thing.

How do I get a clean impression every time?

Work on a flat, firm surface, press straight down with even pressure, and lift straight up without rocking the stamp. Rocking is what smudges the edges. Textured or heavily coated cardstock takes a little practice, so run a test on scrap paper from the same pack before you start on the cards that matter.
